Below is our most asked questions from new members

Where do you meet?

We meet at 100 Dennis Street, Colac, behind the Colac Police Station. 

At the end of Dennis Street, head down the hill and turn left at the bottom.

What does it cost?

The cost of Scouting is made up of two parts: a fee charged by the state organisation (Scouts Victoria) and a group fee.

These fees are billed annually and are due at the end of March each year. If you join part way through the year, the fees are pro-rated by quarter. There is also a one-off joining fee when you first sign up.

Please contact us for current fees, as costs may change from year to year.

What uniform is needed?

n the modern Scouting program, only a uniform shirt and scarf are required.

Uniform shirts are coloured to match each section and can be purchased from us for $50 per shirt. Second-hand shirts are also available, subject to availability.

The scarf is included in the joining fee.

Do you have Camps?

Yes, absolutely. Camps are a regular and exciting part of our Scouting program.

The number of camps and their length vary between sections and depend on what activities are planned during the year. Each camp has its own cost, which is based on the type of camp, location, and activities involved.

Most standard camps typically cost between $10 and $100, while larger or extended camps may cost more. All costs are advised in advance so families can plan ahead.

When do you meet?


Each section meets on a different day of the week. Below is a table showing when each section meets.

Meetings are usually held at our hall, however we do sometimes meet at other locations depending on the activity. We meet during the school term only.

Wednesday — 5:30pm to 6:30pm

Cub Scouts

Tuesday — 6:00pm to 7:30pm

Scouts

Thursday — 7:00pm to 9:00pm


Venturer Scouts

Monday — 6:00pm to 8:00pm
